Discover the Circular Economy
A Masterclass for Teenagers in Africa
The Foundation is launching an online learning programme designed for young people based on the African continent — Discover the Circular Economy: A Masterclass for Teenagers in Africa
The free programme is open to anyone aged 13 to 19 years old who is living or studying in Africa. Registrations are now open for the programme, which will take place online from the 26th October to the 7th December 2021.
The circular economy is a new way to design, make, and use things in a way that can help us to tackle some of our biggest global challenges, including waste and pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
Across the African continent, interest in the circular economy is growing as businesses, governments, cities, and academics start to apply it to support growth and development that’s good for the economy, people, and the planet. The learning programme will empower young people across the African continent to discover the circular economy and inspire them to forge their own paths towards a circular future.
Hosted in collaboration with Hello World and the African Leadership University (ALU), the programme will combine online learning and creative challenges, designed to ignite imaginations and inspire participants to create both local and global change. There will even be a chance to win prizes, sponsored by INSCAPE.
Over seven weeks, participants will have access to online sessions and challenges with the Foundation’s experts and guest speakers from across the African continent. Our circular economy experts will share insightful and inspirational circular economy stories and examples on topics including circular design, fashion, plastics, climate change, and cities.
