The Advanced Diploma in User Experience Design focuses on developing skills in research, problem-solving, conceptualising, systems design, prototyping, testing, and software use. Acquire a deep and systematic understanding of the current knowledge, theories, methodologies, and practices in the specialist area of User Experience Design. Students are challenged to provide innovative, sustainable, ethical, and socially responsible solutions as they engage in design processes to identify complex user (human) experience problems. Knowledge is drawn from diverse areas including design, technology, research methodology, intellectual property law, psychology, and communication. Develop attributes necessary to thrive in the field of UX such as collaboration, negotiation, facilitation, teamwork, and communication. Graduates are expected to become ethical individuals and lifelong learners to continue to learn, grow and adapt to the fast-changing workplace. The qualification addresses the niche job market and prepares students for postgraduate studies.

Special Admissions
Applications from learners who are possibly qualified in other fields or who wish to take the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) route will be considered. Learners seeking access to the Advanced Diploma in User Experience Design who do not meet the required entrance criteria may be considered for the RPL route. Admission to the course is at the discretion of the Academic Committee per the institution’s RPL policy. An RPL assessment process is used to evaluate the knowledge and skills of learners wishing to gain access, credits, or advanced standing. Supporting documents must be submitted to provide evidence of knowledge, skills and values and should include but are not limited to a curriculum vitae with detailed work history, portfolios of completed work, workplace training schedules and examples, and certificates for appropriate non-accredited software training and reference letters from workplace supervisors. Examples must have been completed within the past five years. Please contact [email protected] for more information regarding the RPL process.
International Students
For admissions to the Advanced Diploma in User Experience Design programme, any foreign qualification at an equivalent level to the NQF level 6 must be submitted to the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) for evaluation of equivalence. Once this has been confirmed and Inscape has received the documentation the application will be considered.
