Pretoria

Inscape Pretoria is the largest Inscape learning hub, located in Waterkloof Glen, adjacent to the Menlyn Maine Design Hub, Pretoria's first green precinct.

Overview

Pretoria provides a thriving environment that embraces design, culture, art, music, theatre and sport. This learning hub offers the widest range of design specialisations. The area hosts large conferences, shows, and expos, including the Homemakers Expo. The learning hub is accessible by car, close to the N1 highway. For those using public transport, there are taxis, ride-hailing services and Gautrain bus pick-up points within walking distance from the learning hub.

Culture

The Pretoria learning hub hums with activity, movement, and diversity, with students drawn from Pretoria, the Northern provinces of South Africa, and neighbouring countries. Students can easily access the Menlyn Maine Design Hub with its wealth of green buildings, entertainment arenas, malls, and shops.

The average day at Inscape Pretoria sees students balancing hard work and play. Lecturers actively facilitate classes and students are engaged, energetic, vocal, and collaborative. The lecturers and staff at Inscape Pretoria have built active relationships with local design businesses and suppliers, and students benefit from outings, industry visits, site visits, and talks from leading designers and creatives.

The Student Representative Council (SRC) on ensures that social aspects of life at the learning hub are taken care of. At Inscape we strive to create future design innovators and leaders in their respective fields and encourage students to have some fun along the way.

Learning Hub Life

The Pretoria Learning Hub is a modern educational space featuring ten studios with cutting-edge technology, including 360° speakers, studio computers, and HD projectors, alongside venues specialised for various disciplines. It also houses a comprehensive workshop for hands-on design product creation, alongside a rich library and a materials sample collection for in-depth research and experimentation. The Learning Hub includes a Plato Coffee branch for refreshments and a spacious atrium designed for student gatherings, discussions, and collaborative work, fostering a vibrant community atmosphere.

The Learning Hub is open from 06:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday. Students take full advantage of the free Wi-Fi on site which allows them to research using the online library, access LinkedIn Learning tutorials and check their assignments on Grammarly.
