Approximately 67% of our scholarship applicants qualify for tertiary studies. 60% of the applicants are of child headed households or on family grants of approximately R1500 per month.
On acceptance into the Scholarship Program, students receive a partial or full scholarship for their tuition fees and equipment required for the course: Macbook/laptop, Software and licenses, Wacom tablet, textbooks, stationery, art equipment, online library subscription, Lynda.com subscription and Wifi. This at least puts everyone on the same footing from an academic resource point of view.
The scholarship program is in its fourth year since inception. Financially, the institution is able to continue funding a similar number of students each year indefinitely. BUT, this is less than 20% of the applicants who qualify to enter the program. The increase in applicants and the growing needs of the type of student being accepted into the program requires additional support structures and funding.
